Horse Racing Game Instructions

1. Deal the Cards: Choose a dealer to shuffle and deal all cards. Players may not receive the same number of cards. Place all horses at the starting gate.
2. Scratch Four Horses:
   • The player to the dealer’s left rolls two dice. The total equals the number of the first scratched horse.
   • Move the scratched horse to slot 1 in the scratch lot.
   • All players discard matching cards and put chips into the pot: 1 chip per matching card.
   • Repeat for three more players, moving scratched horses to slots 2, 3, and 4. Contribute 2, 3, and 4 chips per matching card, respectively.
3. Race Begins:
   • The next player rolls the dice and moves the corresponding horse forward one space.
   • If the rolled number is a scratched horse, pay chips equal to its scratch slot number into the pot.
   • Continue clockwise until one horse reaches the finish line.
4. Determine the Winner:
   • Players with cards matching the winning horse share the pot – each card is a "share."
   • Non-winning players pay 1 chip per card still held.
   • If using one deck, the pot is split into 4 parts – each winning card gets 25%. (With two decks, divide into 8 parts.)
